2nd Grade Teacher
I graduated from Blevins High School in 1989, then from SAU in 1993 with my BSE and then my MSE in 2005 from Texas A&M.
My undergraduate degree is in elementary education with a specialization in English and my MSE is in Administration.
I have been teaching at Nashville since 2004 and this is my 16th year with the Nashville School District. I am currently teaching 2nd grade.
I began teaching in 1993 at Blevins. My first position was teaching first grade for three years, followed by teaching Reading Recovery to first graders for three years, then I spent three years teaching third grade, and my last year at Blevins was teaching fourth grade.
I am married to Tony Chesshir and we live on a farm in Center Point, AR. I have three children, Braden, Peyton and Alyssa. Braden is working at HMH in the IT department. Peyton is entering his 2nd year of medical school at UAMS and Alyssa is entering her senior year at UCA.
I have six cats: Greyson, Max, Franklin, Skippyjon Jones, Orange, and Spot, and two dogs: Marley and Lyla. I love gardening--growing both flowers and vegetables.
My hobbies are spending time with my children, gardening, reading and farming. Alyssa, Peyton and I have fun working outside around home, shopping, baking, swimming, and working out. Taking care of my flowers/vegetables and watching them grow is one of my favorite pastimes. Also, helping take care of our cattle with my husband brings me great joy. Watching new baby calves be born and grow, riding our pedal boat, and watching wildlife are all wonderful parts of my life! We are members of the Mineral Springs Church of Christ and value our church family there. I enjoy teaching the toddlers in Bible class there.
