My philosophy of education is based on the following points:
In order for these points to be met, I feel that I have to spend time with the child and make an effort to work with the family to learn about their culture. I address the expectations of my classroom to ensure the child’s physical, social, emotional, and educational needs are met. Open communication between both the teacher and parent will help reinforce the skills taught to make the child the best student that he or she can be.
Learning content skills and social skills are necessary building blocks for preparing for the future. Without these, it becomes difficult to function in society. If you cannot function, then many resort to negative activities to survive. These may be as small as bullying or calling attention to someone else, or as serious as fighting and acting out to get attention off of the fact that they do not have the necessary skills.
